Pfeiffer/Adixen ACP Series Dry Roots Pumps - A Brief Overview:


Pfeiffer Vacuum specializes in the manufacture of Dry Multi-Stage Roots Pumps, ideally suited for production of clean and dry vacuum for a variety of processes and applications. Large pumps within the ACP Series provide a high pumping speed while utilizing low final pressures, allowing for high applicability and effectiveness in freeze-drying processes. Small ACP Roots pumps are specialized pumps that generate the fore vacuum required for particle acceleration and other highly concentrated processes. Still other versions of the ACP Series are used for the semiconductor and coating industries. Regardless of the application and industry, each of these processes share a common requirement - namely, the need for clean, dry, and uncontaminated air.

The ACP Series of dry, multi-stage roots pumps is ideally suited to provide clean air for these applications. The series' pumping module is frictionless and does not require a lubricant for operation. There is likewise no need for sealing material between the rotor and stator, as well as in the suction chamber of the pump. This serves to prevent the back-streaming of vapors and ensures that the pump is free of unwanted particles, thus improving the reliability and stability of the pump. We operate at our own full service repair facility in Clifton, NJ. We have invested in state-of-the-art equipment including; complete line of decontamination, cleaning, drying, balancing, vibration analysis and software to minimize failures. Our in-house machine shop is capable of machining various components, prototypes and housing conversions as needed.

We support all major manufacturers including Pfeiffer Vacuum, Alcatel / Adixen, Edwards Vacuum, Varian, Oerlikon / Leybod Vacuum, Vacuubrand, and Agilent Technologies.

Repair Steps

  1. Full incoming inspection and run up time check, vibration check, drive inspection.
  2. Full disassembly, decontamination and cleaning.
  3. Pump is balanced utilizing state-of-the-art equipment from the world leader in equipment balancing and analysis to reduce noise and vibrations and extend bearings life.
  4. Assembly and replacement of all necessary parts such as shafts, bushings, bearings, sleeves, O-rings, gaskets, seals, wicks, etc. Only parts that meet or surpass OEM specifications are used to ensure dependable highest quality service and long pump life.
  5. Final test and leak check. The pump in fully assembled condition is checked for vacuum seal. Leak test to 1 x 10-9 Mbar l/s. Vibrations are analyzed and test data is digitally recorded.

Every pump and instrument is extensively tested for 48 hours. During our final tests, we monitor total pressure, temperature, vibration and noise level utilizing newest testing technologies and techniques specified by OEM.
