Leybold Oerlikon NT20 Overview:
The mains voltage of Leybold Turbotronik NT20 is 100/120/220/240 V,%/-15%. Mains frequency of Leybold NT-20 is 50/60 Hz. Interface for data output of Turbotornik NT20 is RS 232/V.24. The weight of Oerlikon NT20 is 7 kg.
The electronic frequency converter TURBOTRONIK NT-20 is used to drive the following turbo molecular pumps:
- TURBOVAC 150, 360,
- TURBOVAC 150 CSV, 360 CSV,
- TURBOVAC 150 V, 360 V,
- TURBOVAC 151, 151 C, 361, 361 C,
- TURBOVAC 600, 600 C,
- TURBOVAC 1000, 1000 C, 1100 C.
These pumps each comprise a three-phase asynchronous motor with the appropriate rating to drive the rotor.
The TURBOTRONIK NT20 converts the single-phase mains voltage into a three-phase AC voltage with regulated frequency and amplitude.
Each installed TURBOVAC has been individually coded. The respective pump code must be entered using the DIP switches provided. For safety reasons, the TURBOVAC will not start up unless the two codes match.
The acceleration sequence, the regulation during operation, and the output speed will vary depending on the installed pump model.
The TURBOTRONIK NT 20 does not support the pump models TURBOVAC 150 H and TURBOVAC 360 H. LEYBOLD customer service can adjust the speed of each TURBOVAC to ± 5%, if required.

We perform Turbomolecular Pump repair, Turbo Pump Repair, Dry Pump repair, Vacuum Pump repair, Mass Spectrometer repair, Rotary Vane Pump repair, Vacuum Booster repair, and Leak detector repair. Our highly trained technicians have years of experience and guarantee the highest quality service.
We operate at our own full service repair facility in Clifton, NJ. We have invested in state-of-the-art equipment including; complete line of decontamination, cleaning, drying, balancing, vibration analysis and software to minimize failures. Our in-house machine shop is capable of machining various components, prototypes and housing conversions as needed.
We support all major manufacturers including Pfeiffer Vacuum, Alcatel / Adixen, Edwards Vacuum, Varian, Oerlikon / Leybod Vacuum, Vacuubrand, and Agilent Technologies.
Repair Steps
- Full incoming inspection and run up time check, vibration check, drive inspection.
- Full disassembly, decontamination and cleaning.
- Pump is balanced utilizing state-of-the-art equipment from the world leader in equipment balancing and analysis to reduce noise and vibrations and extend bearings life.
- Assembly and replacement of all necessary parts such as shafts, bushings, bearings, sleeves, O-rings, gaskets, seals, wicks, etc. Only parts that meet or surpass OEM specifications are used to ensure dependable highest quality service and long pump life.
- Final test and leak check. The pump in fully assembled condition is checked for vacuum seal. Leak test to 1 x 10-9 Mbar l/s. Vibrations are analyzed and test data is digitally recorded.
Every pump and instrument is extensively tested for 48 hours. During our final tests, we monitor total pressure, temperature, vibration and noise level utilizing newest testing technologies and techniques specified by OEM.
