Inficon UL 1000 Overview:
The INFICON UL1000 Fab Mobile Helium Leak Detector is specially designed to meet the exacting requirements of the semiconductor industry: testing flexibility, high sensitivity, fast and accurate results, quick start-up, mobility and system reliability. The UL1000 Fab is optimized to provide quick leak testing results for preventive maintenance, unscheduled repair, gas lines, and other leak testing applications.
The UL1000 Fab meets the requirements of the micro-electronics market. Features range from its sturdy metal housing, with cleanroom compatible wheels, to I·CAL*, the unbeatable algorithm for eliminating long averaging times for leak rates in the ultrasensitive 10-11 and 10-12 leak rate ranges.
The system software includes advanced self-diagnosis routines with troubleshooting instructions. Protective functions can be called up to prevent contamination with helium or process gases. The ceiling-to-floor airflow commonly found in cleanrooms is not disturbed by the ventilation system of the UL1000 Fab. The pumping speed and compression of the turbomolecular pump reduce and rapidly eliminate helium contamination.
Using a special software algorithm called I·CAL, the UL1000 Fab provides measurements at unsurpassed speed in the 10-12 mbar l/s range, making that decade truly usable. While other leak detectors have to average the signals over minutes to achieve adequate stability, the UL1000 Fab with I·CAL responds with unparalleled speed and stability in this low measurement range.
For example, starting from a background reading of 1 x 10-12 mbar l/s, an ultra-tiny leak of 1 x 10-10 mbar l/s is displayed in less than a second.
The UL1000 Fab offers a rotatable control interface. The integrated display presents measurement results and status information in large characters with excellent clarity, so that readings can be observed conveniently from considerable distances.
The display mode can be selected as digital, bar graph, trend or circular. The most important basic functions (Start, Zero, Stop) are available at the press of a button. The software is menucontrolled and easy-to-use. Parts of the menu can be protected against unauthorized use or unintended modifications.

A & J Vacuum Services provides repair service for all types of High Vacuum equipment. We perform Turbomolecular Pump repair, Turbo Pump Repair, Dry Pump repair, Vacuum Pump repair, Mass Spectrometer repair, Rotary Vane Pump repair, Vacuum Booster repair, and Leak detector repair. Our highly trained technicians have years of experience and guarantee the highest quality service.
We operate at our own full service repair facility in Clifton, NJ. We have invested in state-of-the-art equipment including; complete line of decontamination, cleaning, drying, balancing, vibration analysis and software to minimize failures. Our in-house machine shop is capable of machining various components, prototypes and housing conversions as needed.
We support all major manufacturers including Pfeiffer Vacuum, Alcatel / Adixen, Edwards Vacuum, Varian, Oerlikon / Leybod Vacuum, Vacuubrand, and Agilent Technologies.
Repair Steps
- Full incoming inspection and run up time check, vibration check, drive inspection.
- Full disassembly, decontamination and cleaning.
- Pump is balanced utilizing state-of-the-art equipment from the world leader in equipment balancing and analysis to reduce noise and vibrations and extend bearings life.
- Assembly and replacement of all necessary parts such as shafts, bushings, bearings, sleeves, O-rings, gaskets, seals, wicks, etc. Only parts that meet or surpass OEM specifications are used to ensure dependable highest quality service and long pump life.
- Final test and leak check. The pump in fully assembled condition is checked for vacuum seal. Leak test to 1 x 10-9 Mbar l/s. Vibrations are analyzed and test data is digitally recorded.
Every pump and instrument is extensively tested for 48 hours. During our final tests, we monitor total pressure, temperature, vibration and noise level utilizing newest testing technologies and techniques specified by OEM.
