AP 101 Anti Seize Vacuum Grease / APIEZON AP 101 Overview:
The Apiezon AP grease family of hydrocarbon high-vacuum greases has been serving the market for a number of years and includes products highly regarded worldwide for their quality, consistency, and excellent performance within vacuum applications. This category of Apiezon Technologies greases features products that are silicone-free and highly resistant to creep - the undesirable phenomenon often associated with many silicone-based products.
Apiezon AP 101 grease is a silicone-free, excellent general-purpose hydrocarbon grease, intended for use in a variety of industrial and scientific applications. Apiezon AP 101 grease is a specized anti-seize vacuum grease, containing PTFE, a substance that confers superior anti-seize properties, providing glass and metal surfaces with long-lasting lubrication and protection from fusing and corrosion.
The vacuum grease is ideally suited for use within low-to-medium vacuum ranges featuring vapor pressures below 10^[-5] Torr at 20 degrees Celsius.The grease contains anti-seize properties, making the Apiezon AP 101 an effective protector and lubricant for metal surfaces that may otherwise be subject to seizure or corrosion. Apiezon AP 101 is insoluble in most standard solvents and is resistant to water, alcohols, ketones and esters.
This lubricant also resists attack from aqueous acid and alkali solutions, alcoholic alkali solutions and corrosive gases. Apiezon AP 101 does not suffer from the contamination problems commonly associated with silicone-based greases (these include phenomena such as 'creep' or 'carry over'). Apiezon AP 101 lubricating grease is likewise easy to clean and remove using hot water combined with an aqueous glassware detergent or, alternatively, hydrocarbon or chlorinated solvents.

Repair Steps
- Full incoming inspection and run up time check, vibration check, drive inspection.
- Full disassembly of the pump, decontamination and cleaning.
- Pump is balanced utilizing state-of-the-art equipment from the world leader in equipment balancing and analysis to reduce noise and vibrations and extend bearings life.
- Assembly and replacement of all necessary parts such as shafts, bushings, bearings, sleeves, O-rings, gaskets, seals, wicks, etc. Only parts that meet or surpass OEM specifications are used to ensure dependable highest quality service and log pump life.
- Final test and leak check. The pump in fully assembled condition is checked for vacuum seal. Leak test to 1 x 10 -Mbar l/s. Vibrations are analyzed and test data is digitally recorded.
