Pfeiffer Vacuum TMU 521P Turbo Pump, DN 160 CF-F, For TCP-350 Controller, PM P03 465 / PMP03465

Pfeiffer TMU 521P / PM P03 465 Overview:

Fully refurbished Pfeiffer Vacuum TMU 521 P PMP03465 Turbo Pump coupled with a DN 160 ISO-K Inlet Flange and DN 25 ISO-KF Outlet Flange. This particular Turbomolecular Drag Pump has a pumping velocity of 510 liters per second and a final pressure of 5 x 10-10. It has been thoroughly examined and is ready for broad range of applications within the research and industrial industries. The TMU 521 P Turbo Pump comes with an entire 12-Month Warranty.

This Pfeiffer Pump has a wear free permanent magnetic bearing at the high vacuum side and a oil lubricated ceramic bearing at the backing side. The Turbo Pumps TMH and TMU models are aidentical in terms of design. They only differ in their intake flange.

A turbopump is a gas turbine that is made up of two independent components ; a rotodynamic pump and a driving turbine. They can be mounted on the same shaft or customarily geared together. The design of a turbopump is to produce a high pressure fluid for feeding a combustion chamber or other use. Visit the turbo pump wiki page for more information.

A turbomolecular pump is a form of vacuum pump similar to a turbopump which is used to obtain and hold a high vacuum. These pumps work on the principle that gas particles can be given momentum in a wanted direction by reiterated collision with a traveling solid surface. In a turbomolecular pump, a quickly spinning turbine rotor 'strikes' gas particles from the intake of the pump towards the exhaust in order to make or hold a vacuum. Visit the turbomolecular pump wiki page for more information.

TMU521P Applications:

  • Degassing, casting, dry vacuum smelting (super-pure metals)
  • Incandescent lamp manufacturing
  • Electronic tubes
  • Thin film deposition
  • Space simulation
  • Cryogenic research
  • Electron microscopy
  • Nuclear physics, Plasma physics, High energy physics
  • Particle accelerators - Storage rings
