Pump has been design to operate as part of Inficon Transpector® CPM 2.5 Compact Process Monitor. Pump P/N 923-723-G1 CDG 025D.
The Pfeiffer TMU 071-003 YP / PM P03 142 has a free of wear permanent magnetic bearing at high vacuum side and oil lubricated ceramic bearing at the backing side. This Turbo Pump is designed for a wide range of applications in the research and industry fields. The Turbomolecular Pumps TMH 071 P/TMU 071 P may only be used for the purpose of generating vacuum. The turbopumps may only be used to pump those media against which they are chemically resistant. For other media the operator is required to qualify the pumps for the processes involved.
A turbopump is a gas turbine that is made up of two independent components a rotodynamic pump and a driving turbine. They can be mounted on the same shaft or customarily geared together. The design of a turbopump is to produce a high pressure fluid for feeding a combustion chamber or other use. Visit the turbo pump wiki page for more information.
A turbomolecular pump is a form of vacuum pump similar to a turbopump which is used to obtain and hold a high vacuum. These pumps work on the principle that gas particles can be given momentum in a wanted direction by reiterated collision with a traveling solid surface. In a turbomolecular pump, a quickly spinning turbine rotor 'strikes' gas particles from the intake of the pump towards the exhaust in order to make or hold a vacuum.
