TW 290/20/20 Thermo Fisher Scientific Pump / 1238741 Overview:
The Leybold TW290/20/20 Turbo Pump is a special Turbo Pump designed for Mass Spectrometers Instruments to evacuate up to three vacuum chambers. TW 290/20/20 have a mounting housing and is designed to be integrated into a Thermo Fisher Scientific, system. Thermo Exactive Plus Thermo Orbitrap.
Leybold TW290 Turbo Pumps are suitable for pumping air and clean gases. Leybold Turbodrive TD400 P/N 800073V0003 is being used to controll TW290 Turbo Pump, TD 400 Controller is mounted at the base of the Thermo Fisher Turbo Pump.
The Leybold TW 290 pump comprises essentially a multi-stage rotor with the stator group, and the drive. The first section of the rotor are two turbomolecular pump stages while the second section represents a Holweck stage.
The Holweck pumping stage increases the permissible forevacuum pressure level markedly when compared with the classical turbomolecular pump. The pumps have gas inlets into the turbo stages, the triple-inlet pumps have a third gas inlet into the Holweck stage. The two triple-inlet pumps are very similar, they differ mainly in the Holweck stage and the operating speed.
Leybold TW290/20/20 UHV was also knows as Oerlikon TW290/20/20.

Repair Steps
- Full incoming inspection and run up time check, vibration check, drive inspection.
- Full disassembly of the pump, decontamination and cleaning.
- Pump is balanced utilizing state-of-the-art equipment from the world leader in equipment balancing and analysis to reduce noise and vibrations and extend bearings life.
- Assembly and replacement of all necessary parts such as shafts, bushings, bearings, sleeves, O-rings, gaskets, seals, wicks, etc. Only parts that meet or surpass OEM specifications are used to ensure dependable highest quality service and log pump life.
- Final test and leak check. The pump in fully assembled condition is checked for vacuum seal. Leak test to 1 x 10 -Mbar l/s. Vibrations are analyzed and test data is digitally recorded.
