The DigiVac Model 201 series gauge controller is a highly configurable digital vacuum control instrument capable of driving and combining multiple sensors. This device can save space, money and complexity by combining many tasks into one device while enabling the user to have any level of accuracy desired for different ranges. It is a highly flexible multi gauge controller that accepts different inputs based on driver board and sensor election, and can have different outputs including: Analog Recorder, RS232, Ethernet, SPDT relays and VLC outputs. The 201 is configured with sensors based on the accuracy and range required to sense vacuum, and displays the pressure reading in user selectable units of: Torr, mbar or kilopascal. The Model 201 can either be panel mounted or sit on a bench top, and can use thermocouple, capacitance manometer, PCG750, CDG500, or PVG500 Active Gauges. The 201 has a built in feature that displays "range" when the sensor is below its useful range to minimize confusion when looking at multiple instruments. It displays "error" if there is a sensor input fault, and puts any configured relays immediately to the safe atmospheric setting. The 201 also has a rich command set to empower the user to control the set points and PID variables via a local RS232 session or from a web browser a world away.
When purchased with the optional VLC control, the Model 201 regulates the vacuum level at a particular set point between 30 millitorr and 5000 millitorr. This vacuum regulator works on the principal of regulating the bleed of a vacuum vessel to atmosphere much like the way many freeze dryers do. The VLC option also has PID variables to enable the user to adjust the nature of the control. The 201 is intuitive, requires very little setup which makes it easy to control a process or perform precision experimentation.
The instrument equipped with Ethernet gives the user the power of the ReAct browser to remotely monitor and control all aspects of the 201. The 201 greatly facilitates process control and easy data sharing to simplify production and laboratory work.
The DigiVac Model 201 configured with a Varian 531 Thermocouple gauge tube senses vacuum by measuring the temperature rise of an electrically heated thermocouple exposed to a vacuum. As vacuum increases, or, more correctly, as absolute pressure decreases, fewer and fewer molecules of gas are available to cool the thermocouple. With fewer molecules the air temperature rises and the thermocouple gauge thus senses the vacuum. A precision reference inside the DIGIVAC in conjunction with an integrated circuit amplifier controls the electrical excitation of the sensor filament
The DigiVac Model 201 configured with a capacitance manometer or other active gauge displays the vacuum level that corresponds to the sensor voltage output. The DigiVac Model 201 has a total of 4 slots that can be populated by expansion boards.

The Digivac Model 100H Vacuum Gauge is a portable digital vacuum instrument that reads from 1 milliTorr (1 x 10-3 Torr) up to 1999 millitorr/microns and comes standard with a Hastings DV-6M thermocouple vacuum gauge tube. This gauge is ideal for the person that needs a Hastings based gauge, but requires the rugged portability and ease of use that this battery powered gauge offers. It can be easily switched between millitorr, ubar or Pa pressure units on the fly with a simple press of a switch. The 100H is a favorite among cryogenic applications where the hastings gauge tube is often permanently mounted on pipes and vessels. This instrument comes in a rugged case and uses a "D" type of battery to increase battery change intervals.
The DIGIVAC Model 100 series gauges are compact digital vacuum sensing instruments. They use a thermocouple to sense vacuum and display the reading in either milliTorr, microBar or pascal. The Digivac Model 100 can use different thermocouple gauge tubes.
The Digivac Model 100 operates by measuring the temperature rise of an electrically heated thermocouple exposed to a vacuum. As vacuum increases, or, more correctly, as absolute pressure decreases, fewer and fewer molecules of gas are available to cool the thermocouple. With less molecules the air temperature rises and the thermocouple gauge thus senses the vacuum. A precision reference inside the Digivac in conjunction with an integrated circuit amplifier controls the electrical excitation of the sensor filament. In gauges that use KJL6000 or Hastings tubes, a precision temperature compensated AC square wave oscillator is included in the electronics. The voltage response of the thermocouple is piped through a CPU and is translated to the current vacuum reading.
