Scrollvac 7 / 141007V10 Overview:

New Leybold Scrollvac 7 Plus dry vacuum pumps are produced to operate in a broad spectrum of applications - general laboratory, research, General vacuum pumping applications, Mass Spectomerty, Backing turbo pumps, Research and development and many more other vacuum applications. Pumping Speed 6.1 m3/h, 3.6 cfm.

Each of the available ScrollVac pump models (Scrollvac 7 Plus, 10 Plus, 15 Plus, and 18 Plus) consists of two spiral forms - one moves in an orbiting motion relative to the other, fixed spiral which provides the ultimate vacuum performance. This eccentric design allows several crescent-shaped volumes to be generated. During this process, the volumes are driven from the outside to the inside of the spirals resulting in gas compression. ScrollVac 7 is known as very quiet scroll pump.

The Leybold ScrollVac 7 pump may be operated in these modes:

  • Manually, using the buttons on the interface panel. Refer to Figures 2 and
    13
  • Remotely via the 15-pin D-SUB digital I/O connector.

The Leybold ScrollVac can be operated via Logic Interface. The ScrollVac pump controller can be operated via the 15-pin D-SUB digital I/O connector. The signals on the logic interface are of the following types:

  • Control inputs: these are switch-type signals that are used to control the
    pump
  • Status outputs: these outputs identify the status of the system.

The Leybold ScrollVac 7 pump can be operated manually using interface panel buttons which includes unique Standby mode that reduces pump speed to 70% of full speed to extend lifetime of the tipseals and liftime of all internal bearings.

Scrollvac7 Plus Applications:

  • Radiation
  • High magnetic field applications
  • Physical research
  • Industrial applications: degassing, vacuum ovens, sterilization
  • Cyclic duties
  • Wet chemistry laboratories
  • Pumping of condensable vapors
  • Backing pump for turbomolecular and cryopump systems
  • Biological laboratories
  • Cryogenics
  • Curing Epoxy
